Dr. Anurag Sekra has performed a vast number of endoscopies both in public and private space.
An endoscopy is a non-surgical procedure to examine upper digestive tract (the stomach and duodenum) using an endoscope – a long soft flexible tube, containing a camera and a light.
Endoscopy can also be performed to examine large intestine passing the endoscope through rectum into the colon or sigmoid areas of the intestine. Such procedure is called sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy.
The doctors recommend endoscopy in the event of following
- Stomach pain
- Ulcers, gastritis, difficulty in swallowing
- Digestive tract bleeding
- Changes in bowel habits (chronic constipation or diarrhoea)
- Polyps or growth in the colon
